Which platforms can you auto-fix?

Accepted Answer

One-click Apply is WordPress, where we write the title, the meta description, the H1 and the excerpt, and place internal links in the page body. Everywhere else — Shopify, Webflow, Ghost, Duda, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Weebly or a custom site — you get exactly the same analysis and the same wording, written out for you to paste. Nothing about what we find changes with your platform; the only thing that changes is who does the typing. Squarespace, GoDaddy and Weebly expose no write API, so nobody can automate them. On Shopify, Webflow, Ghost, Duda and Wix an API does exist, and we removed ours rather than maintain five half-finished ones.

Will you change my site without asking?

Accepted Answer

Never. Every edit is preview → confirm → write → log: you see the exact before and after, you confirm it, and we keep the old value so any change is one click to roll back. There is no setting that turns this off. An automatic mode would be a faster way to damage a site you depend on.

Do you guarantee rankings?

Accepted Answer

No — and be wary of anyone who does. We surface the highest-probability fixes from your real Search Console data and show the reasoning behind each one. Rankings also depend on external links, content and competition, none of which we control. We improve your odds and then measure what actually happened.

Question 4

What do you need to connect?

Accepted Answer

Read-only Google Search Console, and optionally Google Analytics 4. Credentials are encrypted at rest, never shown in your browser, and you can disconnect or delete your account and data at any time from your account settings.

How long before I know whether a change worked?

Accepted Answer

About three weeks. Search results are noisy day to day for reasons that have nothing to do with your edit. Reading a ranking change after two days measures that noise, and acting on noise is how people undo work that was fine. We compare the same window before and after, then say plainly whether it helped, hurt, or made no measurable difference.

What can SearchLift actually see on my site?

Three things, and it's worth being specific. Your pages. The text, headings and internal links of the pages you ask us to analyse — the same things any visitor or search engine sees. Your own SEO settings. Focus keywords, cornerstone flags and SEO scores from your SEO plugin, so the words we suggest for links are words you already chose. These are read through an authenticated connection and are never exposed publicly. Your Search Console data. Which queries showed your pages, and what happened when they did. On Shopify we also read product type, tags, collections and price, because that's what tells us which pages sell. What we never ask for: orders, customers, payment details, or anything about the people who visit your site. On Shopify the connection requests content and product access and nothing else — you can see the exact list on Shopify's own approval screen before you agree to it.

Do you ever see my password?

No. Shopify, Wix and Webflow connect through OAuth: you click Connect, the platform's own screen opens, and you approve there. Your password is typed on their site, never ours, and we never receive it. What we get back is a token limited to the specific permissions you approved. WordPress uses an application password — a credential you generate in your own WordPress admin, that works only for the REST API, and that you can revoke at any time without changing your real password or affecting your login. Your CMS credentials are encrypted at rest and are decrypted only inside the background worker, at the moment it makes a request to your site. They are never sent to your browser and never written to a log.

Can SearchLift change my site on its own?

Accepted Answer

No. Nothing is written to your site without you pressing a button. Every change follows the same four steps: preview what would change, confirm it yourself, write it, then log it — storing the old value, the new value and your CMS's own revision reference. That last part is what makes a change reversible rather than merely regrettable. This is also why the analysis and the writing are separate. A scan reads and reports. Publishing is a decision you make afterwards, page by page. On Squarespace, GoDaddy and Weebly the question doesn't arise — those platforms have no write API, so nothing could be automated even if you wanted it to be.

How do I revoke SearchLift's access?

From your own platform, whenever you like, without contacting us. Shopify, Wix, Webflow: uninstall the SearchLift app in your platform's admin. The token stops working immediately. WordPress: delete the application password under Users → Profile. That is the whole of our access, so deleting it ends it. Google Search Console: revoke SearchLift in your Google Account's third-party access settings. We don't gate this behind a support request or a cancellation flow, and revoking doesn't delete the analysis you've already paid for — it just stops us reading anything new.

Is the WordPress plugin safe to install?

Accepted Answer

It's deliberately boring, which is the point. It holds no credential and never contacts us. The plugin doesn't authenticate back to SearchLift or phone home. It only answers requests that arrive already authenticated — using the application password you issued. There's nothing in it to leak, rotate or steal. Private stays private. Your focus keywords, cornerstone flags and SEO scores are served only to callers who can already edit posts on your site. They are never added to the public REST output. That distinction is easy to get wrong — a plugin that exposes SEO fields to the public REST API publishes every focus keyword on the site to anyone who asks — so the permission check is applied to every private field. It reads; it doesn't rewrite. The plugin exposes what your pages say and what your SEO settings are. Changes still go through the normal preview → confirm → write → log path. You can uninstall it at any time. Analysis continues without it, with less detail about your internal linking.
